Just A Little Thought !!

Those who know me well will know I am bit old fashioned when its comes to my view on books etc so I sent the publishing company Random House  a little message just to express my feelings .
In a world that is becoming so obsessed with all things technological I am quite happy to pick up an actual book and enjoy reading it with a nice cup of tea.

I would love to find out your views on my books vs Kindle debate ...

Here is the message I sent to Random House ...

From being a little girl and being told my first fairy tale to searching through textbooks for my university degree books have always been a big part of my life .

In the wake of such technological advances and the introduction of dare I say the word "The Kindle" books are seemingly becoming less and less popular .

The shutting down of libraries and the well known fact of the amount of books going to landfill is an issue that struck me recently. With so many environmental activists and the addition of book replacements made me wonder why publishing companies are not moving forward as well .

I guess what I am trying to say is why do companies like yourselves not produce new books from recycled paper or create new novels from old books ... Keeping the art of having a physical book to read alive? Not only would this reduce the amount of paper going to landfill but allow yourselves to contribute to your social corporate responsibility .
I am sure I am not the only person out there that doesn't want to see the day when electronic books take over and feel this is an effective way to keep up with todays society so we to can live happily ever after .

What do you think ??

Love Olivia - A modern day book worm that would much rather enjoy the art work of a book then try and read something on a 2d screen

Trick or Treat My Beauties .....

What are your plans for this halloween ?

Wear It Pink Friday ..

I am travelling home to Dorset tomorrow so I wont have the chance to do this blog , which is why i've decided to do it now !

As I am sure most of you are aware that the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and with 1in3 people being affected by cancer Im sure its all touched you in some way.

On Friday the 26th October there is one simple thing you can do to help raise this awareness and that is to
WEAR IT PINK !!

Whether you are a pink person or not go and  celebrate your inner Barbie for this well worthy cause.
If the thought of being head to toe in pink is really not you, simply pop on pink undies or a fuchsia bow in your hair...
Go and get your bake on and create some scrumptious pink cupcakes to share with your girlie.... Or go all out throw a pink themed party  and share the love and help raise awareness of the Breast Cancer Campaign.
No matter how big or small we can each to something to get involved and be sure to check out the WEAR IT PINK website for other ways to get pink or to donate to help find the cure xXx

I love doodling as much as the next person but when searching the internet and coming across self taught freelance artist Ramon Bruin I realised I had stiff competition .
His work instantly put a smile on my face and I love how his  simple 2D drawings become so animated by the way in which he makes them appear 3D.... Clever aye!

Here is a few of his designs that made me want to grab for my sketchbook and create my very own 2D/3D mash up ... Wishful thinking I reckon ... Best just stick to admiring his work.
